Media Observer & Super Blue Blood Moon 1/31/2018PM

Image
These were taken this morning. The picture at the top was when the moon was lowest in the sky--just about to set. It was at that time that the eclipse and reddish hue was most apparent. With regard to the W. Virginia crash, I believe it is unlikely that anyone on a fast-moving bulky train can detect braking especially--being mostly politicians--they were probably very animated themselves ready for that "retreat" at Greenbrier. There was supposed to be a protest at Greenbrier (many were being bused there). I wonder what will become of that protest now? I wonder if Republican representatives believe in signs from God because it seems to me that a Super Blue Blood Moon appearing hours before a train crash that kills one citizen and maims others and a SOT Uniom the night before where they applauded with gusto. . .what, wealth disparity?   NPR    has done a great job fact-checking Trump's SOTU speech, applause by applause.

Media Observer 1/31/2018 AM

I forgot to mention Stephanie Ruhle and Velshi. For anything money-related, they're the best. Morning Joe does have Steve Rattner who also tells it like it is succinctly. Rep Joe Kennedy III's speech got short shrift, imho. I personally hung on his every word. The Presidents SOTU speech, in retrospect, seemed to be orchestrated. I've never seen so much clapping almost with every sentence uttered. That the President lives off applause was apparent by the way he himself applauds to encourage more applause and the way he turned to the Dems to ask them to applaud because he had said something they should like. Mr. Brokaw on Hallie Jackson passed a comment that U.S. residents speaking Spanish irked English speakers. That may be so but it must be understood (I speak as a bilingual) that Spanish is an easy language to learn and to speak. Going to English--at least for a first generation resident--is like being forced to use a backhoe when a spade would do. That is, English is ...

The most significant exciting story I heard today was that Berkshire Hathaway, Amazon, and Morgan Chase have decided to come up with a not-for-profit health plan. Alleluia! This is actually what the country needs--to get rid of the profit margin in healthcare. It's what Senator Bernie Sanders wanted when he proposed "single-payer." It is unfortunate, however, that it will take a while to set up--even as proof of concept--for Congress to see its merits.     The President's speech patterns came up at today's shows. What everyone fails to understand is that Trump is not a reader. This means that he can't polish his deliver because he hasn't been exposed to edited novel variations only found in printed media. He may be dyslexic. Note how unnatural his teleprompter readings sounds. [please see my other blog on his sociopathy]     It was mentioned that attendees at SOTU were warned to behave. That's why I'm watching--I want to see someone call him ...

Donald J. Trump, How Different from You and Me?

I have come to recognize POTUS' behaviors as those of a sociopath but before we get too involved, the reader needs to understand that sociopaths play a needed role in our society--they make the best surgeons, soldiers, lawyers, and, unfortunately for the consumer, businessmen. The main reason for their success in these areas is that a sociopath is cool and collect. More so than in the average person, he/she is able to think without emotional baggage or emotion that can cloud one's judgment. However, that is not to say that our sociopath friends and family (if you look for them, you'll find them) are stoics and can keep from showing us their very universal "human" side. On the contrary, when personally assaulted, for instance, they are quite capable of lashing out at others and being as vindictive as the next guy. Let's outline the sociopath's characteristics and then relate them one by one to President Trump: Deficient in Empathy Uses Glib responses ...
