Pete Buttigieg, A Man for No Season

He's vindictive. We should be glad that he's opting out. It doesn't surprise me that he loves corrupt Biden. No doubt he blames Bernie for his troubles; Bernie, who called him out repeatedly for accepting billionaire funding. Perhaps Biden will take Mayor Pete's mullah in exchange for a spot in his administration--so sad. I'm no pundit but what makes him think that Biden is everyone's second choice when Klobuchar, Bloomberg, and even Warren are corporatists just like Mayor Pete? There is only one real choice, Bernie Sanders, powered by the people.

They Walked Off the Democratic Debate Stage Together

But Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren were careful not to walk out hand-in-hand. Nevertheless, I predict a Sanders/Warren ticket. It's inevitable and a devastating union for a win. Nice job today, Kate Bolduan, great coverage of the Corona Virus and fair coverage of Sanders. Poppy Harlow, you sexy thang𝆺𝅥𝅮

Frances Perkins, We Hardly Knew Ya

[From an article appearing in this month's Harper's, "On Courage" by Kevin Baker] She was the first female cabinet member and--good God--did she set the bar high: helped defeat child labor Gave us union rights Established the minimum wage 40 hr work week Overtime laws Worker's compensation Aid to families with dependent children. Wrote most of the Social Security Act ...all this while having to tend to the needs of her bipolar husband and daughter. Eleanor probably floated her name for Labor Secretary to FDR and he understood that the New Deal required Perkins' empathic and indefatigable activism.  The article, however, was also about Elizabeth Warren and how she identifies with this woman. So much so that wherever she speaks, she will use a podium made from aged wood that was found on the Perkins' Homestead and fashioned by three female carpenters who modeled it after a podium Perkins had once used when speaking out against the cond...

Twitter is Vindictive

I am convinced that Twitter, the company, is vindictive. For the second time, I've insulted them--rightfully so--and they've fought back with a vengeance. What Twitter does is to shut down your account under the guise of security concerns; then, when you try to reestablish your account by saying that "you forgot your password," they ignore your request for a "code" that they say they need in order to get back on. So, here am I where I am going to stay and tell Twitter to go fuck themselves. That's right, scum buckets, you'll not see my tweets unless you apologize to me and the others you've harmed. I don't need you; only the vain celebrities and pols need you. I haven't closed my account because for two reasons: first, you need to be logged on to close your account, and, secondly, one would want receive an archive of one's tweets. People like journalists at "Wired" magazine can easily obtain their archive and they urge...

Reich vis-a-vis Clinton: Keeping a Good Man Honest

[This is an article published April 11, 2015, NationofChange; Op-Ed penned by Robert Reich. My comments in red. Btw, I love to keep a good man honest.] At a time when average working people need a president who will fight for them, the question is whether Hillary Clinton is willing to be bold and to fight. This is a defining moment for Democrats, America and Clinton, herself. Barack Obama was a defining moment too. In my book he's running 40/60 good/bad. Even O-care would have been infinitely more effective as single-payer. So much for defining moments. It’s a paradox. Yeah, in a Zeno kind of way, and Hillary is going to bring me half the way there. Almost all the economic gains are still going to the top, leaving America’s vast middle class with stagnant wages and little or no job security. Two-thirds of Americans are working paycheck to paycheck. Meanwhile, big money is taking over our democracy. If there were ever a time for a b...
