Shame Say Those in the Progessive Game

And so did I when I was much younger. Damn, what purpose do guns serve in our Nation?

Guns have five purposes that I know of. One, they help defend us from invaders. Well, we've never had many invasions--none that I can recall, actually; but, in any event, the populace doesn't need them because of our highly subsidized military.

Two, the Black man in the hood needs a gun to command respect. Understandable. How else will they get respect? I'm sure this has a societal fix, I'm just not sure what it is we are willing to change.  Certainly, the majority in our country do not need guns for daily respect but see the fifth purpose.

Three, the Police need guns because the violent perpetrator has easy access. Can we do anything about this? Unlikely, this is Capitalist America and where there's a buck to be made, a buck will be made regardless of whatever regulation anyone tries to implement.

Fourth is the so-called sportsman. They are well-regulated and I know of no instance where a deer hunter has gone berserk. We can overlook the sportsman because he wants to abide by the law and does not want his guns confiscated on a legality. We can regulate them all we want and they will abide although they may bitch about it.

The fifth purpose has a role that no one is willing to talk about. The Liberals and the Progressives at such periodicals as the DailyKos and the Nation don't seem to ever acknowledge the need for the fifth purpose. They are willing to hand their lives over to whatever noble purpose the government says it has. We want to eliminate senseless brutality, says the government. We want to stop violence. It is all bad. It kills our children and innocent bystanders. OK, say the Liberals and Progressives, regulate to your heart's content--it is for a greater good.

The fifth purpose is why I will always defend the 2nd amendment. The fifth purpose is to regain our government when it has abandoned the constitution for reasons that are apparent only to them. There are those who are quick to mention the superlative power of government forces in the face of an uprising. Yes, I agree, but only against a Bundy or some other militant group.

In the event a majority of the people came to their senses vis-a-vis government's unconstitutional activities and if, of that majority, a million armed citizens marched on Washington peacefully while carrying their "big sticks," I doubt that any Federal force would or could suppress them. I don't want to see us become like Egypt where the people have no arms and the government forces walk all over them. I don't want any government however well-intentioned they say they are to have greater fire power than the people who elected them. Sure, they may think they have the power to eliminate dissent but that is only if they take away our guns.  If we have our guns, no despotic government will ever suppress us.

The Liberals and Progressives suffer from the same affliction you see in the easily cuckolded man--too much trust in the woman he has decided to go to bed with and too complacent because his needs are still being met by the whore. Will you let a whore strip you of your dignity? No, then why let your government?
