McCabe: Poster Child for Government Largess
At first I thought McCabe was being targeted unfairly; then, I learned that he was retiring at age 50 with a $55,000 yearly pension. Then I learned that the man had a net worth of 11 million dollars. Over the course of 15 years--the time between his retirement at age 50 and the time the rest of us schmucks are allowed to retire--he would increase his wealth by $825,000.
Why do we tolerate this largess for our public officials? These sobs at the top of the FBI are incapable of differentiating between the Mafia and inside traders and counterfeiters--and people like those of Ruby Ridge or Waco. They were powerful enough to erase the latter from existence; the former are still with us. Have they kept us safe from foreign actors and from our own country? I bring your attention to 911 and the Parkland Shooter and I ask them to answer for why they should be able to retire at 50; BTW, only to keep on making money in the private sector which they invariably will do. I see them all the time on CNN, MSNBC, and the others.
Who gives them this largess? I suspect it's the idiots in Congress whose personal funds are NOT used to pay for the wealth disparity. It was the hope that Mr. Trump would clean up the swamp that led me and many others to vote for him--I should have known better.
Who among us, dear reader, can retire at 50 and collect a sizable salary for the rest of their lives--which could easily mean 40 years--while making additional money consulting for a media outlet? Do some of you think that it is money well-deserved for years of risky service in law enforcement? I ask you to consider how many FBI agents have died in the line of duty. It's 36 in the entire history of the FBI; and they have, today, 35,104 employees. There are many cities that would like those statistics.
Finally, we don't see much overt corruption at the FBI but is that only because they know they can retire early and, why risk that? Do I want to go without the FBI? No, they have the best forensic skills
Putin
I'd wish Mr. Putin congratulations but my fellow Americans who are more jingoist than me may come calling. Almighty God, you whom all our praise is bestowed upon for ever and ever, please don't let Trump hire Supreme Jingoist Bolton as SOS; the man only has war on his mind--you'll only upset Vladimir*
Putin made what I think is a good point: if the nerve poison had been military grade, the spy and his daughter would have died instantly. What hypocrits we are in the U.S. We hobnobed with Stalin as he killed millions of his own people and condemn Putin for "meddling" in our elections when A.) Facebook did more of it or was complicit, and B.) the 400,00 members of DOJ, FBI, CIA, DHS sat on their asses and let foreign and domestic actors "meddle." Cut back on the labor costs of the DHS (229,000 employees) and use it to buy our Country tamper-proof voting machines--yah thunk?
POTUS
Mr Trump wants the death penalty for drug dealers. He's totally misinformed about the value of that but I'd like to ask the President and the reader to consider the following:
₁
212 was subtracted from the gun figure for police shootings. The figure for
drugs was halved to eliminate prescribed drugs as a cause of death--we wouldn't want to give the
death penalty to doctors, right?
Media
OK, OK, I'm finally done with my fantasies--I've slayed the monster. No longer will I mention any TV host unless they say something akin to "fake" news. The liberal media does not twist the facts; instead, I see only sins of omission--no surprise as they do have an agenda.
*(does it rhyme with "redeemer" as Nabokov's is said to?)

My point here is that nothing in this comparison between guns and drugs demonstrates that drug dealers merit the death penalty while gun dealers do not. It could be pointed out that the gun dealer is in a legal enterprise but does that matter? If you want to stop the deaths of innocents, why not propose that any cause of gun illegality be met with the same fate? If you don't have one, you shouldn't have the other.
The President is on TV and, he just managed to throw his other agendas into the opioid crisis. He calls for a wall to keep drugs out but illegal drugs (opioids) come from China and Afghanistan--what's his proposed punishment for those "dealers?" Some of his ideas seem to have merit--overdose antidotes made available. He also brought up his "Right to Try" program that makes it possible to use experimental drugs on the dying.
I don't like the opioid drug dealer any more than you but any drug dealer killed will only be replaced and possibly by amateurs that might misuse Fentanyl adulterations even more. Van Jones just said that President Trump should "focus on what the people on the front lines say they need. . ." to combat the crisis.
