Russian Meddling and North Korean Tic-Tac-Toe
North Korean Tic-Tac-Toe
I could blame Mr. Trump for backtracking on the North Korea invitation but it's really our State Department and Congress that's to blame. These bureaucrats and career politicians only know one game, Tic-Tac-Toe, and we know that once you learn that game, you'll soon see that whosoever goes firts will either win or result in a draw if the opponent also knows the game well. Naturally, our State Department wants to go first. Never mind that their meddling has brought us to the brink of nuclear war. We had detente with the North Koreans until W. Bush listened to his state department and backtracked. As Americans, we need to remind ourselves of the constant wars and the failure to protect our ambassadors perpetrated by the State Department.
It sickens me that the MSM is now suggesting that Korea has more to gain than the U.S. Really? We are willing to risk mayhem here in the states and on the Korean peninsula? The jingoists here are quick to tell you that we can blow them away. Perhaps, but at what cost? I call the reader's attention to the fact that our defense missiles have recently failed their tests and this statement by Senator Risch [today] who said that in the event of war there would be "Mass casualties the likes of which our planet has never seen." On CNN, Risch pleaded to all that we should be wishing Mr. Trump nothing but success. I couldn't agree more; especially when the CIA has said that North Korea is only "months away from hitting the U.S."
What does Kim Jong Un gain? The MSM says that he gains respectibility on the world stage and that no despot with thousands of jailed and allegedly abused citizens in its jails should be afforded that. Moronic and hypocritical, I say. We dispense respectibility left and right and all that is required of a state is that they play Tic-Tac-Toe by letting us go first. Give him the respectibility that he craves; he'll do shit with it if he doesn't kowtow to the rest of the world (err. . .play the global game well).
Mr. Trump had the opportunity to act presidential. He blew it once again. There was NOTHING to lose by meeting with Rocket Man over a burger or two--just say, "Badda book, badda boom," I get it; too bad the U.S. State Department prefers the cold war.
Russian Meddling
The lunacy of this bogeyman hysteria that has overtaken the country is unfortunate. The question that will be eventually asked--if it hasn't been already--is what should we do to retaliate against Russia once proof of meddling is properly adjudicated to be incontrovertible. I say we should drop the whole thing--a total waste of time.
Russia did us a favor by pointing out the flaws in our democracy. If you don't hold this in high regard, perhaps you should consider that Mr. Putin has denied the meddling. I believe him because he's a Christian and proudly wears a crucifix. I have no doubt that he knows our Lord's words, "let your yes be yes and your no be no." Was he out to show the absurdity of the way we implemented our system of government? I'd say he wasn't far from the truth.
I hate hypocrisy. Is it not hypocritical that we condemn Russia yet not condemn--indeed sanction--meddling by our corporations? These same corporations can do things that a world adversary might find appealing. They can say fuck you to not paying their taxes to a country that risks the lives of its citizens protecting them in foreign lands. They can say fuck you to hiring our own. They can enrich themselves at our expense by selling their stock options at opportune times.
I can't go on. I can only attack piecemeal like the guerilla. I am not part of General Washington's regimented army. (BTW, it was the guerilla army--the militiamen--who won the war for Washington even though he thought them unworthy of being under his command).
