So, Wait, What's Justice Roberts' Role in the Impeachment?

They call it a trial. The venue is the U.S. Senate. It will be presided by Chief Justice Roberts.  Why is the main counsel for the defence, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell given a judge's role?

Strip that turkey of his overabundant plumage!

I believe Chief Justice Roberts can be relied upon to be non-partisan, ergo, the impeachment trial "prosecutors" can just ask the justice for those witnesses required for a fair trial.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi needs to contact the Chief Justice for some pre-trial guidance instead of trying to emasculate gobble-gobble--not that she's not justified, in my book, at least.

It will be a win-win; the defence lawyers can ask for the Bidens and the prosecution can ask for Pompeo and Bolton.
