Classified? Total Bull and We Take It up the Wazoo Only Cause They Say So
There is only one reason for classifying intelligence and military information WHEN WE ARE NOT FIGHTING A MORAL WAR--or any war, for that matter.
The main reason is to prevent being embarrassed over what we are doing abroad. I don't know about you but I feel embarrassed by what scumbags we could be with the rest of humanity. We know what we did to the American Indian, the Mexican, the Japanese-American, and the African-American, and, today, the Muslim. The reason we know is that that information was never classified by the dirtbags who seek to ruin the good name of citizens who would stop the Military Industrial Complex dead in its tracks--like we did with Vietnam but there we first had to witness death week after week. If the Intelligence and Armed Forces Committees with their revolving door "elected" had their way, we would still be fighting in SouthEast Asia.
Have you ever asked yourself why so many ex-CIA and Military find their way into Congress? Our MSM never hides their CV; but it doesn't matter because the MSM treats them ALL like de facto heroes for having served their country even if it was nothing more than a privileged bitch or a prick behind a computer counting enemy dead.
People who are officers in the services are just like the doctor or lawyer who gets his scions to follow in their footsteps because it's a damn cushy job. Oh, it's not cushy for the enlisted man--he/she often pays the price. Nevertheless, there are enlisted personnel whose sons and daughters also feel a compulsion to serve but it's out of a misguided sense that their country can't do no wrong (not to mention that our society makes it appealing to them with education and healthcare for life; what will the MIC do when everyone is offered the same without having to serve?)
For the sake of completeness, let's look at possible classified information and why it's bogus to keep it secret.
Anderson Cooper defended the intelligence community vis-a-vis President Trump's past condemnation of them. AC should seek the moral bedfellow not people who failed us with Kennedy, 911, Iraqi WMD, government surveillance, and Benghazi, to name a few off the top of my head.
So, BO passed up that opportunity to give 5 million bucks to his favorite charity because he didn't give in to Trump's demands for his College and passport records? That wasn't cool at all. BTW, Anderson, donations to charities often come with strings attached--just by picking one charity over another, you've attached strings. No one I know picks a charity totally at random.

For the sake of completeness, let's look at possible classified information and why it's bogus to keep it secret.
- Let's say we admit that we had an unnamed asset who told us the Suleimani was about to attack our embassy in Baghdad which was old news btw, wasn't it; but what could our "enemies" do with this classified information? Would they not suspect, anyway, that it was an asset that provided the info? Of course they would.
- Let's say we admit to having x number of personnel in a certain area. Would our enemies rush to the kill? They never do. No one is as sophisticated or as powerful as the U.S.
- Let's say we admit to having a super-duper intercontinental ballistic missile. So what? What would they do with the information. Rush to make their own? Putin and N. Korea declare their armaments and they don't give a shit about us knowing it. Why can't we? (see above).
I can't think of a single scenario where--other than a declared war--we would be at a disadvantage with our enemies. I call upon the Intelligence and Armed Services committees to take a look at declassified info and TELL US in what universe that information could have been used to harm us. I dare them to write an effen book--I'll be the first to read it.
I could go on and on with the sheer idiocy of our bogus classification policies but what's the use, MSM like CNN, CBS, NBC, PBS, ABC, WOR, and FOX accept it like gospel and feed the lies 24/7. Meanwhile, our country goes down the sewer of opprobrium. Perhaps we shouldn't care because other countries would like to see us pay the price for our interventions and the raping of resources so that the Waltons, Gates, and Bezos can continue to live high off the hog. Perhaps we shouldn't care because the prices at Walmart are great and the convenience of Amazon is oh so heavenly and worth dying for--if not personally, then with surrogates.
