JC! Margaret Brennan, Why Not Join Smiley's Campaign?

MARGARET BRENNAN asked Smiley Uncle Joe, "Bernie Sanders. Can you stop him, in terms of the momentum he has?"

I give her kudos for journalistic integrity by not smiling back at Smiley but with this question I've read between the lines. I read this as coming from a host who is in consternation over Bernie's success. I read, "CAN YOU STOP HIM" (before anyone of us contribute another cent to your campaign?) and I read, "Because, Mr. Vice President, there is a distinct need to stop this damn socialist." And, not stop him because your policies are so much better than his but stop his damn momentum which was not anticipated and which will destroy all the dough I and my husband have managed to accumulate over the months that Trump has been in office--oh, that rich man's saviour, if he hadn't been so blatantly corrupt and wall-loving, he might have been the second coming of Reagan.

Now, how would I have phrased the question? I think I would have said, "Bernie Sanders is surging. Is he now unstoppable?" or, "Sanders is gaining momentum, can your campaign overtake him in the upcoming elections?" or, "Sanders is gaining momentum, do you think Hunter Biden has played a role in that?"

Mr. Blankfein of Goldman-Sachs is going around saying that Bernie will crash the economy if elected. No, sir, that's what you're good at. Before you continue spreading falsehoods, please understand that Congress holds the purse strings; so, if you'd like to prevent what you call a crash, start giving the bucks to those Senate Republican lackeys whose seats are as tentative as Trump's throne. We the People are not afraid of your ill-gotten wealth--you pyramid scammer.

Bernie said something during the last debate that there was a role for private insurance in his Medicare-for-All plan. It is obvious that the government cannot take away private insurance. All the government can do is insist that you opt for Medicare-for-All and allow you to purchase supplemental private insurance that will bring benefits back to a level that existed before BernieCare. Now, what will Buttigieg, Biden, Bloomberg and Klobuchar say now? That we can't afford it? Well, I've got news for the capitalist "law firm" of Buttigieg, Biden, Bloomberg, and Klobuchar: we didn't have the money for retirement, unemployment, Medicare, disability and endless wars and incarcerations --but we found it anyway. I say look harder, capitalists--start with Mr. Blankfein.

Finally, Putin is said to have promoted Bernie's campaign. It's conceivable because Bernie is a socialist and that sort of jibes with communism--NOT, but Mr. Putin may want to still bank on the similarities because Mr. Trump has actually been less friendly than Mr. Obama and perhaps all he's looking for is a U.S. president who eschews undeclared wars--helloooo, Bernie. Mr. Putin had high hopes of getting an oligarch in the W.H. but soon found that Donny can't be trusted. We all should have seen it coming upon learning that Mother Trump went around personally collecting the quarters from the washing machines instead of asking Donny to collect them. Maya Angelou probably has a corollary here: If the mother tells you how they are, believe her.

I think I left out Abby Phillips as being Bernie-fair. If others feel cheated, please let me know.
