John Avalon, Most of Us are Aware of your Bought Status--the Democratic Debate
CNN's goto spinmeister of "reality" comes up with the meaningless figures to bring down Bernie Sanders vis-a-vis the perennial senior class president and valedictorian, Ms. Amy Klobuchar.
What he said was that Little Miss Busybody got a lot done in Congress. Fine, let her stay there where she'll do the most good. Assuming, of course, that you are a lawyer and revel in the plethora of dumb-shit laws coming the way of the unsuspecting citizen.
Another reality-check is that in Congress you don't get something for nothing. While Ms. Klobuchar was possibly willing to compromise principles to get her legislation passed. Meanwhile Bernie Sanders stuck to his guns and got fewer bills passed. That, Mr. "Reality Checker," is our view of reality.
Did you remember to bring in Mr. Obama's legacy in legislative law.....aaaaa, zero? Bernie's in good company as far as bill writing is concerned. To use a Reality Check statistical tool, that means Bernie wrote TWICE as many as Mr. Obama. To be fair, B.O. wasn't in the Senate as long as Bernie, but maybe he saw the writing on the wall and that he, as a Black man, would have little success in pushing through his bills.
Lets move on:

Lets move on:
- On to last night's debate in SC. Did everyone see what Margaret Brennan, the attractive woman who should never broadly smile and who has a nondescript body, did to Bernie? Buttigieg had snuck in his only "soundbite" against Bernie--the private insurance dilemma that, truthfully, Bernie should have put to rest by saying that anyone who wants to supplement BernieCare with private insurance can do so and which he could have done had Brennan given him the chance.
- Is Representative Clyburn, the verbose DNC lockstepper, OK with the semblance of impropriety surrounding Smiley Biden? It's sad. Btw, the African-American when considering "radical" ideas, should remember how radical emancipation was to half the country but passed because it was right; likewise, Bernie's policies should be viewed in this light. To quote Mr. Clyburn, "I've known for a long time whom I'm going to vote for, but I haven't decided...err, haven't shared it with the public." Nice Freudian slip Mr. Clyburn, did your constituents catch that obfuscations? The truth, sir, is that you were waiting to see what effect Hunter would continue to have. Wait for it, more to come about that.
- Thanks for that Bernie save, Jim Sciutto; where you said that Bernie was merely following the dictates of his constituents in Vermont when he voted against gun legislation. A member of Congress, as part of our republic form of government must cater to his/her STATE constituents; as president, you cater to the NATION.
