Covid-18 Deaths in the Elderly may be due to Insufficient Fever

"The immune system doesn’t function as efficiently in older adults as it does in younger people. The body's fever response to infection is not always automatic in elderly people. More than 20 percent of adults over age 65 who have serious bacterial infections do not have fevers." From Fevers in Adults article.

While the classically trained MD just shoves breathing tubes down patient's throats, they may do better by raising body temperature in cases where the fever response to Covid-19 is not as high as it should be. There are many drugs that increase temperature; interestingly enough, hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin are listed as two of them. See the list here

Possible support for this theory may come from an analysis of elderly deaths in the tropics. Here, being that the ambient temperature is already high, the elderly may have less work to do to get their temperatures into fever range.

I started researching this angle when--in daily temperature readings of the inhabitants in our home--I noticed that my wife's and her parents readings were always low (90-93.5F or less). My adult son's and my temperature were higher (97-98).

I was under mistaken impression that high fevers killed pathogens directly. Apparently what is happening is that pyrogens produced in response to an infection trick the hypothalamus into thinking that the body's temperature is TOO low. The hypothalamus then orders the body to ramp up its metabolism and orders the muscles to shiver; both thereby increasing body temperature. Btw, when was the last time you saw big muscles on a senior?

What fevers actually end up doing is to make it easy for immune cells to travel along blood vessels to the site of infection. The mechanism involves HSPS (Heat Shock Proteins) and integrins which are involved in cell-to-cell communication.

If raising temperature in the elderly results in too much brain damage, perhaps the body can be heated locally below the neck while keeping the head cooler. I'll leave it to any doctor who dares to think outside the box.

notes: so, today I found out that a network TV doctor who is quick to ask for controlled studies once pushed for a therapy JUST BY FUCKING ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE ALONE. RIP, Charlotte, you showed them the miracle of Cannabis without clinical studies.

I see that China is lifting lockdown in Wuhan BUT maintaining MASKS when in public. I love the Chinese and their thinking.

If Dr. Fauci now promotes not shaking hands, why doesn't he promote the disinfection of handrails and such by government?
