Hospitals Need to Change Their PPE Protocols--and Effen Pronto. Also Dr. Fauci's Impossible Dream


The hospitals are operating on old protocols that have them changing gear from room to room. However, if all the patients are Covid-19 positive, it makes NO SENSE to continue this extravagant use of new PPE's because what the heck are you attempting to NOT spread--they all have the same effen disease and when you leave the room, all your colleagues SHOULD be wearing their N95's.

I think it's time for engineers to design a mobile laminar flow unit that can straddle the patient and allow for safe practices. How about it MIT?

Dr. Gupta and Dr. Fauci spoke about the pathogenesis of Covid-19. The unfortunate part is that, at least for Dr. Fauci, no progress can be made unless it is part of a well-designed study. I wholeheartedly disagree with such high standards while the pandemic is rampant.  At the very least we should be collecting anecdotal evidence and posting the known biological and chemical properties of the virion.

At what pH is the virus inactivated
At what humidity level
At what temperature
At what salinity
At what UV radiation level
What other substances bind to the ACE2 receptor
How do common disinfectants compare
Tabulate Ace inhibitor use and dosage amongst all patients
Tabulate blood types
Ask or document breathing habits of patient (mouth breather, jogger?)
Document previous flu-like infections

Update on my homemade CPAP machine. Waiting for the mask to arrive so I can test it while sleeping. Also, I may put in an aquarium heater to warm the moist air. It's a feature of most CPAP's and heat and humidity may help to inactivate the virus. The CDC is so darn secretive about what it knows that it's downright criminal that such information is not readily available to researchers without a university affiliation--damn priesthoods!

[caveat: I'm not a biomedical engineer but I did use a CPAP machine once]. I'm offering this device design to the general public in the event they have a loved one who can't get access to one and who may benefit from one because they are in the early stages of disease. Please try to use a professional mask as they have needed safety features like a hole to allow--if I'm not mistaken--for pressure buildup during exhalation. If the overly intrusive FDA had kept it's intrusion low, China would have given us cheap CPAP machines by now. Instead, patients have to fork over a grand to get a run-of-the-mill-FDA-sanctioned model.

Please do your own research as to what can be added to the distilled water that can be added to make it more therapeutic (salt and star anise come to mind). I'll supply specs when completed but for now, I've discovered that you probably do not want to exceed 30 Centimeters of Water or 0.4267 psi.

Amazon just sent a weird notification asking me to approve a delay for the CPAP mask.
