HydroxyChloroquine is Unlikely to Work by Classic Immunosuppression in Covid-19 cases
Consider this, Dr. Gupta: if all you do is stop the immune response, the virus would continue to replicate and maybe with a vengeance. It is more likely that hydroxychloroquine--if indeed it is working--hinders replication. It would do this by preventing the vacuole carrying the virus from bursting inside the cell giving the cell time to introduce proteolytic enzymes that degrade viral proteins. Once the virus bursts from the vacuole, it is probably too late for the cell to defend itself. This may be the same mechanism that make it useful in autoimmune diseases. If you don't have antigen presentation to immune cells, you don't trigger the hyperimmune response seen in these diseases. Would you call this immunosuppression? No, the immune cells are still functioning normally.
What I can't explain is the drug's success in malaria but then I haven't had time to look into it. Although it just occurred to me that--assuming the malaria parasite reproduces inside a blood cell--hydroxychloroquine may stop the red blood cell from bursting. This will allow the rbc to live out it's life until the bodies maintenance takes over and destroys the aging rbc.
Btw, Dr. Gupta, what medicinal interventions are being used. Are inhaled steroids being used to stop the fibrotic lesions?
Notes: shave your fucking full beards. Masks don't work well with beards that prevent the mask from sealing properly.
