Governor Cuomo Misses the Mark vis-a-vis Meat Packers

In the same breath, the Governor talked about high "density" and meat packers. Sorry, Governor, in a meat packing plant you could have two workers at opposite ends of the building and one of them will catch coronavirus from the other just by virtue of the fact that the entire workplace is a refrigerator and coronaviruses love a dry martini--they don't care so much about the temperature but humidity must be kept to a minimum if the virus is to spread well.

Governor Murphy, Governor Cuomo's people are coming over to Jersey, I suspect because there are shorter lines here. But they are not wearing masks; otherwise, I wouldn't give a hoot and, in fact, would welcome them. (come to BJ's or Walmart in North Bergen, count the NY cars and look at the New Yorkers NOT wearing masks.)

Keeping social distancing guidelines is hard to do because it is easy to inadvertently get too close. However, the wearing of a mask is easy to spot and fine and there is no excuse--just like there wouldn't be any excuse for a flasher to scoff the law and do his thing: "I'm sorry, your honor, my balls were sweaty and my ass was itchy--I just had to air them out. What would you have me do? No, the water's not running in my apartment. No, the YMCA is closed, your honor. I had no choice but to run skinny through Central Park." Just as the flasher has no excuse under the law, neither does the naked face in the time of Corona. Besides, I'll bet you that beautiful masks are just waiting to be designed en masse. I envision one with a transparent panel that will make suitors and cops happy.

No one has an explanation why we are running at about 6% fatality while the rest of the globe is at 7%. This belies the activists' statement that we pay the most in healthcare but get the least. Of course, we can remove kudos if the lower fatality is due to our ability to get our hands on beds, ventilators, and personnel before other First World countries.

New Jersey's Department of Personnel

I'm 57 years old. That alone makes it very hard to penetrate the job market. However, NJDOP has a website where you can browse available jobs and submit an application along with $15. I did that and I waited and waited for the process to reach the stage where the actual hiring agency would give out interviews for the position. 2 months into that last stage (the DOP said that the hiring agency had 90 days in which to interview candidates), I got anxious and decided to call the municipality. They were supposed to pick from the top 3 candidates but they told me in no uncertain terms that they were going to give it to "the person who was already doing the job." When I questioned the ethics and legality of their decision, I was told that they really hadn't finalized things. Size and other Characteristics Matter in Trumpville

Why was Comey fired? He towered over Trump, that's why. It's a no-no. That other dude that knew his job well was tall, and I suspect the administration knew all the time of his spousal abuse history but it only became a problem for him when his height got on the president's nerve, OUT. This height obsession is a conflation of the President's own tallness and NY real estate where the bigger the edifice, the bigger your status.
