If I were "King" of the Cops

I'd issue my officers a gold square pin to wear but only after having obtained 5 years without a complaint. You get another one 5 years later..., and so on. If you were to get a complaint, that year does not count towards your total. An inability to get a square every 10 years is means for dismissal.
Cops who just started can be given a smaller square for each year they remain complaint-free and five are replaced with a regular size square. The public is only allowed two complaints per person per year; and teenagers are permitted to file w/o parental consent.

The square makes us focus on proper policing practices. A cop who is slow to obtain a square or receives a complaint right out of the gate, means that he should be observed more closely and body cams are reviewed even if there is no problem reported.

If you were never to get a complaint and were of age to do so, you would be next in line to be chief of police (assuming you've shown leadership skills and were respected by the rank and file.)

If we do this, the public can better determine the honorable cop worthy of our respect and can give the suspect cop wide berth confident that they NEED to earn their squares or be fired.

Finally, why should be expect more of a bellhop or a clerk than we do of cops? The former don't get the bigger bucks or benefits; they don't get pensions, vacations, and the best union representation--yet we expect more of them than we do of cops as far as how we're treated by them. The public generally believes in living and letting others live. So, how much a cop gets has never been an issue; but that we should pay them a kings ransom and be treated like scum is waaaaay too much to bare.

Did God send the novel coronavirus to shut up conservative seniors while releasing the idealistic youth to make the change that we all deserve.

But this may not have saved Mr. Floyd--we need more evidence; but one glaring truth stands out: he was already handcuffed and sitting quietly on the sidewalk when the neckneeler showed up. Why did the neckneeler have to get involved at all. Were the other cops novices or retards? Its one or the other but you don't put any cops out on the beat if they can't be cops. Anyway, what happened to the 'collar' concept, is that not applicable to MPD protocols? Investigate Mr. AG and stop being so negative. What are you trying to do, uncle t., influence the jury pool? As I've stated before, minorities suck and revert to 'uncle tomism' first chance they get (i.e., "when they finally get White man status" and feel themselves beholden).

Just thinking... In George Floyd's name...

Some great legislative ideas are being bandied about but I repeat my admonishment, every piece of legislation that removes police power would eventually go up to SCOTUS and, unless we act, SCOTUS will see the laissez faires of the past and stay mired in them.
