Senator Paul and Doctor Fauci: Why Faustus Fauci Remains beloved by the MSM.
[this concerns the mismatch that took place recently in D.C. between senator Rand Paul and Doctor Anthony Fauci. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqUOcVwRUtc]
To a disinterested party, Dr. Fauci came out ahead but they may not know the backstory. For instance, both men have MD's but one practiced medicine while the other went right to work for government and ended up knowing more virology than medicine* The Senator not only is not up on virology but he does not have the argumentative skills found in most members of the Senate who tend to be lawyers; and, this was evident in his questioning of Dr. F.
When Dr. F. said "you don't know what you're talking about." The good Senator should have demanded to know more: "Oh, how so?" The doctor-turned-virologist had the glib responses of a sociopath.
Let's see what I mean. Anthony Fauci says to the Senator, "you do not know what you are talking about, quite frankly. And I want to say that officially." A non-sociopath would have added, "because, if you did, you'd know that...," but there was nothing forthcoming. Also, what's this business about saying something "officially?" There was no need to say that, he was under oath and he was an official government representative. Every word out of his mouth was an official utterance but sociopaths love to add whatever glibness surfaces in their minds. This attack on the part of Dr. F. was prompted because the Senator had submitted a paper in support of his contention that gain-of-function work had been going on.
Dr. Fauci says that that Wuhan work "was judged by qualified staff up and down the chain as not being gain of function." So, why all this vetting of the research after the fact? Who was accusing the good doctor and what were their qualifications that he, Dr. Fauci, needed to get contrarian consensus. Btw, Is there such a thing as unqualified staff anywhere in D.C.? "Up and down the chain?," why, did he not have sufficient upper level staff on his side? Glibness--all Dr. Fauci needed to say was whether he thought it was gain or function and, if not, why not. This line of questioning was missed by the Senator.
Next Dr. F. resorts to finger-pointing that, again, was just the sociopath showing his true colors. First of all, the Senator was accusing Faustus Fauci of "trying to obscure responsibility." That does not imply that he was responsible in any other more direct way. Yet, he took umbrage saying, "If you look at the viruses that were used in the experiments that were given in the annual reports that were published in the literature, it is molecularly impossible." Viruses that were used in the experiments takes on a sociopath's qualifiers: They needed to be, a.) given in annual reports, b.) published in the literature. Gee, what about viruses not mentioned in the annual reports? Gee, what about unpublished data? He is leaving out pertinent data by limiting the scope. The Senator should have pounced.
I'd like to mention another thing here. I hope that "molecularly impossible" does not mean that nature can do things that virologists can't. I can't comment because the good Senator didn't follow-up. I suspect that Dr. Fauci says this with complete confidence because he knows proper deep sixing of pertinent data has taken place.
CNN puts in their two cents saying that, "For months, most scientists who study coronaviruses and who have investigated the origins of the pandemic have said the evidence strongly supports a natural origin." First of all, there can't be many "who have investigated the origins," because China is not allowing those investigations. Secondly, of those who side with Dr. Fauci, how many are NOT working for government or getting government grants? Such is the lack of luster in CNN journalism.
Finally, I'd like to address something that piqued my interest in the emails obtained through FOIA--here we see that Wuhan, in late 2019, was asking for help from the NIH in maintaining sterility in their new lab. What's this about? You would think that in starting a level 4 virology lab that you'd have all the t's crossed; instead, what I think was happening was that Wuhan had found themselves in over their heads. They created a monster and it had escaped. Maintaining sterility was just code for containment of accidentally released pathogen. The other angle that I see is that Wuhan was gearing up to do Fauci's gain-of-function studies and wanted to know what other measures might be apropos before they started their Frankensteinian work.
We may never know but it doesn't help that Senator Rand Paul is not reading my blogs. Nevertheless, I thank him for his independence that's sorely needed in D.C. Just look at the way Dr. F. vehemently attacked him knowing that little Caesar has served under two parties and neither can condemn him of riding roughshod with our virology programs. To CNN's credit, they did report that the Biden administration's intelligence gathering says both origin scenarios are still viable with regard to Sars-Cov-2.
*Had Fauci been a bona fide medical practitioner, would he not have demanded the use of masks from the get go? Would he not have suggested that first responding MD's try systemic steroids to assuage the cytokine storms that were really doing the killing?
