Governor Murphy of NJ, King George and Donald Trump Rolled up into One.
Our Governor Murphy's attempt at maximizing tax revenue from marijuana sales is tantamount to King George--also a Briton--trying to force a tea monopoly on the colonists. What this graduate of Goldman-Sachs fails to realize is that holding hostage the NJ resident by forcing him to buy "Murphy Weed" under threat of draconian incarceration for "home grown weed" only shows how greed reigns supreme in the Goldman-Sachs world.
As citizens, we need to wise up and understand that the businessman should have no role to play in politics for, although sociopaths make good surgeons and successful businessmen, humanity, as a whole, needs empathic leaders and not just those who offer lip service to our grievances.
The best way to get people to buy "Murphy Weed" is to increase their standard of living (i.e., employment with good wages). It is NOT by throwing people in jail for trying to make ends meet through home cultivation. If I have money for "Murphy Weed," you can bet I wouldn't waste my time growing my own. Maybe some will end up growing as a hobby but there are many who make their own wine and have had little effect on tax revenues.
Before marijuana was partially legalized in NJ and before I learned that you could get 20 years in jail for growing your own, I grew pot and let me just inform the greedy Governor what you have to contend with: A. Hundreds of dollars for quality seeds, B. high electric bill for lighting, C. expensive fertilizers and soil conditioners, D. sundry other expensive equipment, E. fungus gnats, and spiders, F. constant surveillance looking for pests.
I was and will always continue to be cheaper than "Murphy weed" but when you consider the time invested in getting a decent grow, I'd rather not grow my own IF I HAD MURPHY'S MONEY or a tiny fraction of it.
My fellow citizens, keep the businessman away from our politics--they are toxic and without empathy. Think Trump, half Briton.
