Three Main Types of Intelligence. The Two Top Pros Mostly only have One.

You can have a great memory or you can have great analytical skills or you can have both. The average doctor and lawyer gets by with just the first (memory). These two professionals study for years on end and they memorize and are tested for their 'intelligence' just like a London cabby: what data have you memorized? The engineer and other scientific professionals are expected to be able to analyze data and situations and come up with truth. Neither the doctor nor the lawyer have great analytical skills; relying, instead on a vast storehouse of protocols and prior law. Only the medical doctor with a PhD is capable of thinking outside the box. Just look at how progress has fared in the era of the coronavirus, "It's a new virus, we just don't know. We need to wait until those with good analytical skills tell us." My God, how long did it take them to prescribe dexamethasone to the severely ill patient? Even I, a lowly biologist when it comes to human health, have...

Mr. Barr is what Surfaces when SCOTUS Tampers with Our Constitution

Article II, Section 4, says the following: The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." We tend to focus on the presidency but it's all civil officers who are subject to impeachment. The Constitution says nothing about giving the president the power to remove anyone he chooses; yet SCOTUS gave him that power in a decision that, I believe, dates back to 1924--saying that the president was an 'executive' and should have that firing power as do all executives. Why should this matter? Well, the slow-witted justices of that time could not conceive that a president would come along who would get rid of people until he was satisfied that a suitable sycophant was working for him; i.e., Mr. William Barr in the case of his attorney general. However, that power to fire is extended to all who report to the White House with th...

How BJs.com gets us to Pay for the Discounts they give Others

I have only a modicum of OCD but I'll always hate to clip coupons...SO...I don't bother. I'm not rich but I'll be damned if I have to be forced to work by corporate America just to get an effen discount. Therein lies their graft. There are people with a little extra money that don't really need the coupons and there are people who are too lazy, disinterested, or who value their time too much to clip coupons. These people end up subsidizing the coupons of those poor souls who HAVE to clip coupons. I give to charities but to have a company like BJ's surreptitiously have a program in place that sucks money out of my coffers so that they can lower the cost of goods to others is typical of what scumbag corporations do everyday of our lives thanks to the--typically--sociopathic CEO. Because of coronavirus, BJ's is temporarily doing away with paper coupons but they still insist that you go online to get the savings. I thought I would be smart and just click o...

Evolution Needs to be Understood at all Costs

The problem with evolutionary theory is that no common man is willing to see him/herself as an animal subject to evolutionary forces. It's a simple concept but, after learning the basics, we fail miserably at applying the concept to everyday life. That is so unfortunate. Let me break it down for you. Evolution simply seeks to perpetuate life--any life, all life. But there is a principle that we mostly fail to embrace. Evolution is blind. The reason it is blind is that it does not know what the environment will throw at it. Ergo, it must come up with very different designs in the hope that one of them will survive in the new environment. I don't know who told it so, but it found out early that environments change. The Black person came up with extra melanin that will protect him/her from the Sun's UV rays. The White Northern person then reversed that and came up with less melatonin that would allow lower quantities of UV light to still make make it through the skin and...

GOP, Time to Draft Mitt

You blew it the last time. This time, I, a lifelong Democrat/Independent WILL vote for Mitt Romney instead of Smiley. Romney would be protective of Wall St. and even though he made his fortune there, he may be moral and ethical enough to listen to those of us who what to assuage wealth disparity starting with Wall St. I definitely think this is true because he marched with the people. The GOP needs to recoup any cred it had with the common man, and they can do it with the Rich Mormon from Utah, imho. Anyway, it beats worrying about what Smiley is doing behind the scenes--and he probably learned many a lesson from the Uncle Tom. Seriously, what did he do? Did he fix marijuana? Did he fix wealth disparity? Did he curtail guns? Did he fix immigration? Did he fix the criminal justice system? Or, did he, in fact, just lend his Black face to the presidential portraits? Oh, yes, let's be fair, he did use the people's money to bail out many rich asses and bastards on Wall St., and, tha...

To Me, a Biologist, Racism has Evolutionary Explanations; Ironically, Racism hinders Evolution

Most of our primitive urges have been successfully suppressed by society--most, for the good of all. I don't know if racism could be suppressed longterm by legislation but we are seeing herd mentality--the good kind--hold up injustice for all to see. It doesn't matter that 57 cops resigned at Buffalo, NY, in support of 'storm troopers' that shoved an elderly man to the ground, for they were engaged in Trumpism--looking out for #1 at the exclusion of others.  Today, what could be the threat seen by Whites? Why fear a Black man/woman? In a population, you would be excused for fighting for resources. But Blacks are not siphoning Wall St. profits. Black women are only a threat during Black Friday at Walmart, lol; and, funny how retailers know better than to bring in a gaggle of cops to their stores to stop those 'riots.' You would be excused for not wanting to be robbed at home. But minorities affect their own waaay more than they infringe on White properties (riots...

If I were "King" of the Cops

I'd issue my officers a gold square pin to wear but only after having obtained 5 years without a complaint. You get another one 5 years later..., and so on. If you were to get a complaint, that year does not count towards your total. An inability to get a square every 10 years is means for dismissal. Cops who just started can be given a smaller square for each year they remain complaint-free and five are replaced with a regular size square. The public is only allowed two complaints per person per year; and teenagers are permitted to file w/o parental consent. The square makes us focus on proper policing practices. A cop who is slow to obtain a square or receives a complaint right out of the gate, means that he should be observed more closely and body cams are reviewed even if there is no problem reported. If you were never to get a complaint and were of age to do so, you would be next in line to be chief of police (assuming you've shown leadership skills and were respected b...

A Lesson from the President's LDL Cholesterol Reading

Dr. Reiner, appearing on Berman and Camerota this morning was asked to comment on the President's numbers. He said that doctors were more and more aggressive at bringing down the LDL number and, indeed, he reported that POTUS is on high dose Crestor. At no time during the interview, did Dr. Reiner or CNN mention that the LDL number ALONE should not be used to prescribe statins--unless you're a cardiologist looking to increase patient counts; and, boy, do we give them an easy path to wealth. Scare the patient into thinking he/she needs statins and you have a patient for life. But back to LDL. That LDL number is an aggregate reading. If you break it up into its components, you may just be pleasantly surprised to learn that the component most responsible for the high number is NOT as dangerous. There are four components: Very small, small, medium, and large. You want lower amounts of the small diameter stuff. If you have larger diameter particles, you lower the risk of clottin...

It's SCOTUS, Stupid. We the People Need to Hold these Fuckers Accountable.

It's so fucking wasteful to march against police brutality when the Supreme Court of the United States allows police to kneel on our necks or shoot us with bullets. Where are your brains, people? Think about the inordinate power of the cops--who gave it to them and who in unwilling to address the issue today? I call upon protesters to flood the Supreme Court. They need to correct the sins of their predecessors or risk the fate orchestrated by Madame Defarge. This is what it's come to. All you bastards that seek the status quo, correct your evil ways! All you fucks in robes have managed to do is recruit for Antifa. In other news:  Of course, Governor Cuomo would demand goody two-shoes; he's Italian and you just have to look at how the Romans acted against their people. If you don't do what what an Italian demands, then you can just picture yourself a citizen up against imperial Rome. They are quite prepared to throw us to the lions if you don't behave; if...
